greenUP Architektur & Bauberatung is supporting the Lörrach town planning office and the Lörrach Economic Development Agency in the development and conception of the climate-neutral Lauffenmühle industrial estate pilot project using timber construction.
In spring 2022, greenUP carried out a plausibility check for the project, which showed that the construction of the first climate-neutral commercial estate in timber construction in Germany on the Lauffenmühlen site is fundamentally feasible.
In the follow-up contract "Development and application of award criteria for the Lauffenmühle industrial estate in timber construction", the greenUP team is working on the following points:
- Conceptual development of an urban building model
- Best practice research / documentation / clarification of details
- Development of scenarios and their visualisation with SketchUp
- LCA calculations of variants and scenarios for achieving climate neutrality
- Comparison of the applicability of different assessment approaches, including ResScore and CO2The main focus is on testing the user-friendliness and transferability of previous methods from neighbourhood development and residential construction to commercial areas.
