Teaching activities

Holger Wolpensinger gained teaching experience in the context of lectureships at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and at the Chair of Urban Neighbourhood Planning and Design at the TH Karlsruhe. For 14 years, we discussed doctoral theses with fellow academics in the Doctoral Network for Sustainable Urban Development (NSE), and Holger Wolpensinger supervised or co-supervised the diploma theses, student research projects and internships listed below, and held student seminars and lectures. In addition, he gave further training courses as part of the BBR's trainee teacher training and for association representatives as part of his work for the Wood Information Service of the Wood Sales Fund.

2006 – 2008 Consultant at the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) in the Sustainable Construction Office of the Scientific Department (now "Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development" (BBSR)). Conducted a workshop on assessment tools for sustainable building, among other things. Participation in trainee teacher training and supervision of two internship projects on sustainability in the building sector and in urban development.
2004 – 2005 Lectureship at the Chair for Urban Neighbourhood Planning and DesignProf. Markus Neppl, Faculty of Architecture at the University of Karlsruhe. Among other things, implementation of two upper school seminars "Sustainable settlements in Baden-Württemberg - examples and assessment approaches". and supervision of the diploma thesis "History of ecological settlements from 1960 - 2005".
2001 – 2014 Sustainable Urban Development Network
Establishment and coordination of the interdisciplinary NSE - Network for Sustainable Urban Development. In particular, doctoral students, post-docs and scientists from universities in German-speaking countries are networked through the NSE. All spatial science disciplines are represented. The most strongly represented faculty are architects, landscape architects, as well as geographers, landscape, urban and spatial planners. 2006 to 2014: Coordination, public relations, conception, organisation and multiple moderation of nine doctoral colloquia to date at universities in Berlin, Darmstadt, Weimar, Harburg, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Munich, Karlsruhe and Wuppertal. Co-organisation of the NSE symposium "urban transitions" 2011 at the University of Wuppertal and 2007 at the University of Kassel.
1998 – 2001 Nationwide Student working group on sustainable building in university teaching (StABiL) with interdisciplinary participants from 60 universities in German-speaking countries. Organisation of nationwide seminars and a symposium in Hamburg, as well as lectures and excursions
1996 - 2002 Ak ÖkoBau e.V. (Ecological Building Working Group) University of Karlsruhe Foundation of the working group and board activities. Implementation of lecture series, workshops at the university. Conceptual design and organisation of an interdisciplinary seminar and semester design for the construction of a student residence together with civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and economics students.
